Grata offered an open web app, while Finquest’s 200 million company database remained internally focused. This presented an opportunity—to transform an advanced internal search tool into a revenue-generating product.

With a Lean approach, stakeholders aimed to roll out an MVP quickly, minimizing investment while testing the concept with pre-selected clients. Instead of relying on extensive external research, the design relied on:

• Internal interviews for key insights,
• Best-guess decisions based on common sense and usability principles,
• A focus on making the tool intuitive and easy to use from the start.

This approach challenges the idea that data is always required for good design. Sometimes, clear logic, UX best practices, and strategic thinking are enough to create a viable and effective product.
